Base Camp – November 16, 2008

If you’ve been hanging around the church world for a while there tends to be a lot of talk about ‘arriving’.  It’s this idea that somehow, somewhere, there’s a place you can get to where you’re always at the top of living for God; praying is easier, making the right choices is easier and you’re like this super-spiritual person. It’s like uh, well, heaven, to be honest.

So is it real?  Not heaven (we kinda think it does exist), but this place where everything we do is ‘touched by God’?   To be honest, we’re not so sure.  What we do know is that more often than not the journey of life has us trekking mountains and hitting peaks a lot.  We often have these incredible spiritual highs followed by some intense spiritual lows.  This month is all about being at the base camp of just such a spiritual high, preparing for the adventure of following God wherever he calls us.

We hope you’ll join us as we explore this conversation together.
